In September 2016, Mr. Han Tao, a Field Engineer with Haimo Technologies, was in BOG Port Harcourt Office to meet with the Well Testing field service engineers and for the upgrade and maintenance of the Multiphase Flow Meter (MPFM). An MPFM is a device used in measuring different flow rates (oil, gas and water) in a given flow conduit without separation.

As part of this upgrade, the gamma detectors and IDE software in the Data Acquisition Unit were upgraded. The whole maintenance and diagnostic exercise lasted for three days after which a flow simulation using diaphragm pump was carried out to ascertain the multiphase flow meter readings on the upstream computer. At the moment BOG MPFMs have been upgraded with the latest software and are ready for field operations.
