Bell Oil and Gas (BOG) carried out a maintenance project on the ERHA Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. This project is part of our ongoing GRE maintenance contract with SPIE for ExxonMobil.
Built in 2005, the ERHA FPSO has a storage capacity of 2.2 million barrels of crude oil and an initial production capacity of 165,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
The primary objective of this mobilization was to provide critical support to the Turbo Machinery Team, through the provision of our specialized heating blankets. Heating blankets are flexible, insulated coverings used to apply consistent heat to equipment and materials in various industrial settings. These were used during the change-out of the dry gas seal in the High-Pressure Compressor (HPC 2) system.
Our team of engineers were called upon to inspect a 30-inch loop spool on the Seawater Lift Pump (SWLP 3) after which a detailed inspection report and repair plan were swiftly developed and shared with all key stakeholders. The team is now scheduled to return to the site to carry out the necessary repairs and revamp the failed spool.
The site work spanned 13 days. Key activities during the mobilization included:
- Heating blanket support for the Turbo Machinery Team during the dry gas seal change-out on HPC 2.
- Urgent inspection of a 30″ loop spool on the SWLP 3 system, with a comprehensive report and repair plan submitted to stakeholders.
