As part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in delivering oilfield services, Bell Oil & Gas (BOG) also completed a critical maintenance project on the Agbami Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel in the Gulf of Guinea. This project was one of the key achievements in Q3 2024, further demonstrating our technical expertise and capacity to deliver timely and efficient solutions.
The Agbami FPSO is located 220 miles south-east of Lagos and 70 miles offshore Nigeria, in Chevron’s Oil Mining Lease (OML) 127 and 128 block. With a storage capacity of 2.2 million barrels of crude oil, Agbami plays a critical role in Nigeria’s oil production. Maintaining the integrity of its systems is essential to ensuring optimal performance and minimizing operational downtime.
In August, engineers from BOG’s Composite Pipe Systems (CPS) Unit were mobilized to the Agbami FPSO to undertake a series of repairs. The team focused on replacing and reinforcing key elements of the vessel’s GRE (Glass-Fibre Reinforced Epoxy) piping system.
The scope of work included:
- Change-out of a leaking 18” x ¾” GRE bushing saddle
- Replacement of two leaking 1” GRE lines
Change-out of 2” x 1” fittings and reinforced lamination.
The entire project, from planning to execution, was completed within a span of six days, excluding mobilization and demobilization. This efficient turnaround time was made possible through meticulous planning, precise execution, and the technical expertise of our highly skilled team.
The successful completion of the project ensured the continued operational efficiency of the Agbami FPSO, preventing further leaks that could have potentially disrupted production.
This project not only highlights BOG’s ability to provide high-quality, specialized services but also underscores our commitment to supporting Chevron and other clients in maintaining the integrity of their offshore assets. Through the application of advanced technology and expert personnel, BOG continues to set the standard for excellence in oilfield services across Nigeria.
We look forward to many more successful projects in the coming quarters as we continue to strengthen our position as a trusted partner in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
