Bell Oil & Gas (BOG) proudly sponsored the NAPE Young Professionals Pitch-A-Thon, a key feature of the 2024 Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) Conference. This year’s conference, held from November 10th to 14th, centered on the theme, Resolving the Nigerian Trilemma: Energy Security, Sustainable Growth, and Affordability.
Activities began on November 9th with the exclusive President’s Dinner, a closed session for specially invited guests. BOG was delighted to participate as one of the distinguished guests, represented by the Chief Executive Officer and the General Manager of Business Development and Supply Chain. The dinner set a high tone for the conference, bringing together industry leaders in an atmosphere of collaboration and shared vision.
The conference officially opened with the Icebreaker and Welcome Cocktail, sponsored by NNPC, providing ample networking opportunities for industry professionals. Bell Oil & Gas’ team, including Mrs. Yemi Gbeja, Head of Business Development, and Ms. Chiamaka Onuoha, Assistant Manager of Business Development, actively engaged with participants.
On November 11th, the conference kicked off in earnest with the Opening Ceremony, setting the stage for an impactful week of knowledge-sharing and innovation.
A highlight of the conference was on November 12th, when Dr. Kayode Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Bell Oil & Gas, delivered the keynote address at the NAPE Young Professionals Forum. Speaking on the topic Preparing for Your Success – An Entrepreneur’s Perspective, Dr. Thomas inspired attendees with insights into the different types of individuals in society: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who ask, “What happened?”
He emphasized the importance of preparation and purpose, introducing the “5 Ps” principle: Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where students asked questions and won gifts brought by the BOG team.
As a sponsor, BOG played an integral role in the Young Professionals Pitch-A-Thon. Dr. Thomas served as a judge, evaluating innovative ideas pitched by young entrepreneurs. The competition showcased the ingenuity of Nigeria’s future industry leaders, culminating in a celebratory Award and Recognition Night where winners were rewarded for their outstanding ideas. BOG’s active involvement in the NAPE Conference 2024 emphasizes our commitment to fostering innovation, nurturing young talent, and supporting sustainable growth in the energy sector. Sponsoring the Pitch-A-Thon aligns with our dedication to empowering the next generation of industry leaders while contributing to the dialogue on energy security, growth, and affordability.
