As part of our commitment to innovation, local content development, and strategic global partnerships, Bell Oil & Gas recently hosted a visiting delegation from Amiantit, a global leader in composite piping systems.
The Saudi Arabian Amiantit Company (SAAC) was incorporated in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1968 to manufacture different types of pipes, joints, fittings, tanks, rubber and insulation products, and related accessories for the Middle East market.
In 1977, Amiantit Fiberglass Industries Limited (AFIL) was established as a limited liability company between SAAC and Flowtite, transforming the Fiberglass manufacturing, maintenance and service market globally, which has metamorphosed into the Amiantit Group to become the leading industrial group in its domain, providing different types of composite pipes, fittings, tanks, materials and water solutions across the globe.
With 29 manufacturing plants worldwide, various technology companies, material supply, and engineering subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Amiantit has further manifested its strength and positioned itself as the global leader in composites’ (GRE, GRVE, GRP) piping technology with an impressive presence spanning six continents.

The visit included a courtesy tour of our Head Office and the Lekki Free Zone facility, a visit to the NOG Energy week and technical presentation sessions with three of our major clients: TotalEnergies, Chevron and Seplat. The visit featured three high-level technical presentations:
- At TotalEnergies, discussions focused on stress and surge analysis, installation best practices, and application-specific product performance (Glass Reinforced Vinylester vs Glass-fiber Reinforced Vinyl Ester). The Amiantit team addressed challenges such as water hammer effects and pipe failures on FPSOs, presenting innovative solutions already deployed successfully in major projects like Train 7. TOTAL expressed interest in future GRE supply contracts and encouraged Amiantit and BOG to remain commercially competitive.
- At Seplat, the Amiantit team introduced advanced features such as leak detection technology, multi-axial lamination, and non-shutdown repair options. SEPLAT requested further engagement on upcoming projects and internal circulation of technical materials.
- Chevron’s primary concern was the recurring failures in its ballast line system. The BOG team acknowledged these issues and proposed a proactive joint reinforcement strategy. Amiantit was also introduced as a potential supplier of Bondstrand pipes, and further technical discussions explored GRE stress analysis, supply chain logistics, and the need for R&D in predictive diagnostics for internal pipe failures. Chevron expressed optimism about adopting Amiantit’s solutions.
