On Friday, the 5th of June, Bell Oil & Gas awarded the construction contract for its proposed pipe threading and valve assembly production plants at Lekki Free Zone to Huachuang Steel Structure Engineering FZE (HSE), a reputable Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) company.
The contract was awarded following a competitive tendering process from top-notch construction companies to build an ultramodern pipe threading plant that will have the capacity to thread up to 50,000 metric tons (mt) of pipes per year and a valve assembly production plant that will cover machining, assembly, testing, inspection and painting of gate, globe and check valves as well as ball valves of up to 24.
HSE was selected for its vast experience, in-country access to manpower and equipment.
The construction of the pipe threading and valve assembly production plants scheduled to be commissioned next year, will encourage the development of local skills, oil and gas technology transfer and the use of local manpower in Nigeria.
The premises will also house a modern composite pipe fabrication workshop.
