Having enjoyed the dividends of a working Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2015 over the years, the management of Bell Oil & Gas raised the bar and further demonstrated the organization’s commitment to quality health safety and environment (QHSE) by taking steps to achieve additional certification to Integrate its Management System. To achieve this, BOG additionally secured Environmental Management System; ISO 14001:2015 and Occupational Health and Safety Management System; ISO 45001:2018.

The benefits of this integration include:

It is worthy of note that Bell Oil & Gas has been running the PDCA cycle (Plan-Do-Check & Act)of the QMS, so it was easy to align with the new standards.

During the preparation, BOG assessed the risks and opportunities that might impact the organization, then conducted requisite planning to ensure the risks did not affect the organization’s ability to deliver “desired outputs”. Process activities were carried out to ensure alignment with outputs, while top management regularly reviewed performance against set objectives.

To actualize the certification, Standards Organization of Nigeria(SON), which has now been accredited by the international body, National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCD) India, served as the certifying body. The first stage (documentation) audit was carried out within the last quarter of 2019, while the second stage (Certification) audit was carried out on the 19th and 20th of February 2020 at our Port Harcourt office. Lagos office had their turn on the 25th and 26th of February, 2020.

BOG is surely taking the lead as the reference point for true local content development in the Oil & Gas Industry.
