The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) Engineering Week brought together (by invitation), various major vendors and top Shell officials to interact and promote knowledge sharing, innovation and collaboration among Shell/vendor engineers. It also created an avenue for the vendors to showcase and promote their product offerings especially new innovations.
The objectives of the Enginneering Week were to inspire innovation; create a platform to share and learn; engender engineering initiatives to address existing challenges in the energy industry; and improve risk-based decision-making capabilities of SPDC and vendor engineers.
Declaring the event open, SPDC’s Engineering Manager, Engr. Nnamdi Anowi, thanked vendors for participating in the programme. He urged all participants at the event to use the opportunity to showcase their product offerings. He also emphasized the importance of new innovations that will help solve the challenges in the oil and gas industry.
Four out of the eighteen vendors who attended the exhitibion were selected for a panel session on “Innovating to Achieve Win-Win for SPDC and Vendors”. BOG was selected as one of the panelists. The panel session was interactive’; it afforded participants opportunity to brainstorm on criticial issues.
BOG showcased its capabilities and product offerings at the event. Product samples BOG displayed during the exhibition include – Goodwin and Vonk choke valve models, hydraulic hoses, composite pipes, BOG brochures and various Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) catalogs. Sundyne Sealless pump, Goodwin new axial products. Other BOG products were also showcased.
Various participants and delegates visited BOG’s stand during the exhibition. They all expressed interest in our products especially the sealless pumps, composite pipes, Goodwin axial isolation and control valves and hoses. Questions were asked by the visitors and responded to appropriately.
Some of the notable people who visited BOG stand at the exhibition are – Nnamdi Anowi; Sunny Fajimi (Procurement Manager, SPDC); Nnamdi Asiegbu (Head of Instrumentation Design, SPDC); Brenda Donelly (V.P Discipline Engineering); Frank Van Breukelen (General Manager, Upstream Engineering EMEA); Johnson Ntemuse (Head, Process Automation, Control & Optimization Engineering, SPDC); Arinze Oduah (Senior Procurement Manager, Wells & Projects, SPDC); and Isaac Ogedegbe (Technical Manager, Southern Swamp Associated Gas Solutions, SSAGS, Project, Saipem).
BOG’s participation at this exhibition has helped to once again, showcase BOG’s capabilities in the oilfield services space and put us in the frontline for upcoming opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. BOG aims to maintain its status as an SPDC ‘super vendor’.
