BOG continued in its tradition of meeting customer needs by delivering OMB ball valves of different sizes to the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The ball valves delivered were in sizes of 14 inches, 20 inches and 24 inches. Though the valves had long lead times, BOG delivered the valves to SPDC in April 2017.
OMB Valves Group is one of BOG’s technical partners for valves. With its headquarters in Bergamo, Italy, OMB prides itself as a “diversified manufacturer of valves for the energy industry’’, spanning over 42 years.
In the upstream, valves are used to control the flow of oil and other liquids from high pressure injection systems to blow out preventers and choke valves. They are also used in the midstream, where storage and transportation of oil and gas is conducted from deep sea; they are used to protect equipment while controlling product flow.
