When did you join BOG?
I joined BOG in January 2010 as a Field Service Engineer.
What do you remember about your first day?
I received a warm welcome and began with a thorough safety induction. I also underwent a familiarization process where I learned about each department, their roles, and how they relate to my department (which was called GRE but is now CPS). One of the highlights of my introduction was during lunchtime, when I was taken out to have lunch, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
What are your career ambitions and what steps have you taken to accomplish those goals?
I began my career in the construction industry as an engineer and gained further recognition by being certified by COREN as a professional engineer. I joined BOG as a field service engineer, eventually progressing to senior field service engineer and then supervisor.
Looking ahead, I am eager to transition into a more design-focused engineering role, particularly in piping design (GRE and Steel). To achieve this, I have started building proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software. My next step will be to gain expertise in Caesar II for stress analysis in piping systems, which will further enhance my ability to contribute to complex engineering projects.
How has the BOG values affected your personal/ private life?
The values at BOG have helped me become morally principled, confident in strategic thinking, and accountable. They have empowered me to assist others in recognizing their potential, while also sharpened my ability to understand and solve problems by thinking outside the box. BOG has instilled in me a “never give up” mindset and has shaped me into someone others can look up to for guidance and inspiration.
Who do you admire most at BOG? Tell us why
Everyone at BOG has qualities that I admire, but these two individuals stand out, not only because they are my bosses but also because of the remarkable traits they both share.
Their approach to business is something worth studying. Even in challenging situations, they remain calm, never passing on the uncertainty to the workforce to avoid causing panic. They have a clear belief in their goals and are unwavering in their determination. They are passionate about sharing knowledge and inspiring others in all aspects of their work. Above all, they are excellent strategists.
These two individuals are Dr. Kayode Thomas (Chief Executive Officer) and Ayo Aderibigbe (Deputy Managing Director).

How has the company contributed to your development in the last 15 years?
Although I began my career in the fabrication and installation of pipe supports, GRE piping systems, and documentation, my journey truly expanded when I received specialized training from the GRE pipe manufacturers (then Ameron, now NOV) abroad, after joining BOG. This experience allowed me to see firsthand how GRE pipes are manufactured, which was a significant boost to my expertise.
At BOG, I was also introduced to structured documentation and reporting formats for project work, which has further enhanced my skills. Additionally, my ability to interface with clients has greatly improved since my time at BOG, a development I attribute to the in-house training and the collaborative environment within the company.
I am eager to continue my learning and look forward to more training opportunities in the future.
What are your most notable accomplishments over the years?
As a certified NOV “Train the Trainer” for GRE fabrication and installation, I had the opportunity to train both international and local personnel in the fabrication and installation of GRE piping on the largest FPSO vessel in West Africa, the EGINA FPSO, operated by TotalEnergies.
Additionally, the pipe manufacturer entrusted me to represent them by signing off on documentation, addressing technical queries, and overseeing inspections.
In the end, the project was successfully delivered, a testament to the teamwork and dedication involved.

It fosters a culture of continuous learning, both through self-initiative and mentorship, whether directly or indirectly. At BOG, family is at the core of every decision and action taken. Any other information you might want to share?
I look forward to the day when BOG expands across more African countries, championing the use of local talent to deliver professional services that meet international standards, just as has been achieved in Nigeria.
