Following the commissioning of BOG’s world-class Pipe threading and machining plant at the Lekki Free Zone, we embarked on a roadshow across China within the quarter. The goal of the roadshow is to forge meaningful partnerships and strengthen existing partnerships with leading steel mills, Original Equipment Manufacturers and technology providers, strengthen our supply chain, and deepen the technical capacity required to serve Nigeria’s rapidly expanding energy sector.
The roadshow took our team through Shandong Molong, Tianjin Pipe Corporation (TPCO), Jiuli Hi-Tech Metals Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Qi Bao Steel Tube Co., Ltd., Hengyang Valin Steel Tube, Lincoln Electric, and Shandong Longkou Special Rubber Hose. Each engagement provided insights not only into their capabilities but also into opportunities for collaboration as BOG continues its journey toward becoming the foremost integrated OCTG and pipeline service provider in Nigeria.
The roadshow centred on establishing the right relationships with top-end mills, particularly now that BOG has secured its API certification, an important milestone that places us on the path to premium connection licensing.

A key stop on this trip was Shandong Molong Petroleum Machinery Co. Ltd., one of China’s oldest OCTG manufacturers with a wide portfolio spanning seamless casing, tubing, drill pipes and couplings. Molong is a major supplier to CNPC and Sinopec and has an annual manufacturing capacity exceeding half a million tons. With several OCTG orders already in progress for BOG, the visit provided an opportunity to review ongoing production, strengthen supplier alignment, and discuss frameworks for premium connection licensing, audits and future representation on Nigerian projects.

The team also engaged Tianjin Pipe Corporation (TPCO), the largest seamless pipe producer in China and one of the world’s most prominent suppliers of OCTG to international oil companies.
TPCO is known for its comprehensive capabilities covering casing, tubing, drill pipes and line pipes, including sour service grades and proprietary premium connections. TPCO is strategically positioned to support Nigeria’s growing pipeline and production tubing demand. Discussions focused on collaboration for ongoing tenders, stocking possibilities through our LFZE facility, and long-term project representation.

Another critical engagement was with Jiuli Hi-Tech Metals, globally known for advanced corrosion-resistant alloy pipes, duplex stainless steels, clad pipes and specialised tubulars used in offshore environments. Jiuli remains a key partner for BOG, particularly with respect to the Bonga North project where we secured a purchase order for HRB clad pipes. The roadshow offered an avenue to review technical requirements, quality management processes and delivery readiness while exploring future collaboration on deepwater pipe solutions.

The roadshow also took our team to Qi Bao Steel Tube, which has long been one of BOG’s most significant technical partners, contributing notably to the development and commissioning of our OCTG threading plant. During the construction of our facility, we frequently worked with their engineers and technical personnel on equipment selection, plant layout, installation and personnel training. However, despite this history, our senior leadership had not visited their headquarters in some time.
The visit to Qi Bao during the roadshow was therefore centred on rebuilding and strengthening the relationship at the management level. It provided an important opportunity to meet with the company’s top executives, reaffirm the partnership, and update them on the commissioning of our facility, including the successful attainment of our API licence.

This reconnection laid the groundwork for enhanced cooperation as BOG moves into its next phase of technical development, including premium connection licensing.

Our team also visited Lincoln Electric, globally recognised for its leadership in welding technology and automated welding systems. Their Shanghai operation manufactures advanced submerged arc welding (SAW) solutions, including the Column & Boom systems that BOG is procuring for large Outside Diameter (OD) conductor pipe welding. The visit aimed to strengthen an emerging partnership that directly supports our expansion into the large OD-conductor pipe-welding segment. Lincoln Electric has long been at the forefront of automated welding solutions, and its reputation for engineering excellence makes it a natural partner for BOG as we broaden our OCTG service offering.

Our team also stopped by Shandong Longkou Special Rubber Hose Co., Ltd., a well-established Chinese manufacturer that has been producing high-performance rubber hoses since its founding in 1993. Over the years, Longkou has specialised in a range of hose products designed for demanding industrial and energy sector environments.
BOG’s visit to Longkou during the China Roadshow was driven by a strategic interest in expanding our hydraulic and industrial hose offerings beyond the services we currently provide. While BOG’s existing service portfolio includes hydraulic hose solutions, Longkou’s broader range of specialised hoses opened the door to opportunities in high-pressure drilling operations, flexible well control functions and offshore fluid delivery systems.

Overall, the China Roadshow was aimed at strengthening partnerships with credible, world-class manufacturers of carbon steel pipes, OCTG products, line pipes and specialised equipment. The engagements provided valuable technical insight, reinforced existing relationships and opened new pathways for collaboration across supply, licensing and service delivery.
Looking ahead, the roadshow also sets the stage for future industry engagement and knowledge sharing, particularly around pioneering developments such as Jiuli’s role as one of the first Chinese manufacturers to produce specialised pipes for Shell. Such achievements reflect the calibre of partners BOG is aligning with and highlight our commitment to innovation, quality and global best practice.
This roadshow marks a critical step in BOG’s evolution from plant commissioning to capability expansion. By deepening relationships with leading global mills and technology providers, BOG is strengthening its technical foundation, securing reliable supply chains, and advancing its readiness for premium OCTG licensing. Most importantly, the outcomes of this engagement reinforce BOG’s vision of being the reference point for true local content development in the oil and gas industry.
