Things you should Know About OMB
- OMB was Founded in 1973 by Mr. Roberto Brevi. Its headquarters is in Cenatesotto, Bergano, Italy.
- OMB, a family-owned and operated group is a globally recognised diverse manufacturer of valves for the energy industry and other industries.
- OMB has presence in Africa, UK, Japan, Korea, China and Canada, and a distribution network which covers all the major oil producing countries.
- Bell Oil & Gas (BOG) has a long-standing relationship with OMB. As a representative of OMB in Africa, BOG supplies installs and maintains a range of valves including, forged steel gate, globe, check, floating and trunnion ball, triple-offset butterfly, pipeline gate valve, engineered valves for its clients in the oil and gas industry and other industries.
- OMB’s partnership with BOG has also birthed the establishment of first-ever 1SO 9001 API valve assembly plant for isolation, control and safety valves in Lagos state.
- The Valve Assembly has state-of-the-art equipment capable of assembling, testing, certifying, and painting valves up to 24 inches.
- The OMB group has knowledge and experience in the design and manufacture of valves for hydrocarbon and petrochemical processing plants, oil and gas offshore and onshore production and transportation and the energy industry.
- OMB valves are suitable for major industrial applications including subsea, refining, chemicals, pharmaceutical, LNG, Cryogenics, Marine, aerospace, Fossil, water, wastewater, and power industries.
- 9OMB products range from 2-inch to 60-inch and pressure class ASME 150 to 2500, API 3000 to 10000psi.
Products and Services Offered by OMB
Their products include;
- BALL VALVES: the various types of ball valves and their characteristics includes;
– LIP Valves: 1-piece design, fire safe certified, available in class 800, 1500 and 2500.
– Compact Valves: 3 pieces closed dye forging design, fire safe certified with integral ISO mounting pad.
– Flanged Valves: in 2 pieces are manufactured from closed dye forgings and strict compliance to ASTM requirement, in class 150 to 2500.
– Top Entry Valves: have 1-piece forged body either welded or integral flanges, designed with energized seats, in class 150 to 2500.
– Side Entry Valves: This type of valve has a stem that connects the ball on the side. Aside from this, the ball is also connected to the stem through a quarter-turn thread.
- GATE VALVES: gate valve which is also known as a sluice valve, is a valve which opens by lifting a round or rectangular gate/wedge out of the path of the fluid. Some of the gate valves manufactured by OMB includes;
– Steel Socket Weld Gate Valve
– Cryogenic Gate Valve: Cryogenic service refers to condition where temperatures are significantly below normal atmospheric temperatures, hence these type of valves are used when the temperature is below normal atmospheric temperatures such as LNG plants.
CHECK VALVES: Check Valves manufactured by OMB include Piston Check Valves and axial check valves.
Check valves are unidirectional valves which automatically open with forward flow and close against reverse flow. They are supplied to meet a wide variety of applications with the closing element in the piston, ball or swing type.
– Piston Check Valves are normally supplied by OMB with the addition of a spring which allows both the vertical and horizontal installation. Great care is taken by OMB in the design and manufacturing to prevent noisy operation and unsatisfactory wear of closure components.
– Axial Check Valves use a streamlined flow path to reduce turbulence, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. They are particularly well-suited for high-pressure and high-flow applications, offering enhanced performance in critical systems.
OMB takes special care in designing Axial Check Valves to minimize noise and vibration during operation. These valves feature a spring-assisted closure mechanism that ensures rapid and precise response to flow changes, reducing the risk of water hammer and other flow-induced issues. Axial Check Valves can be installed in both horizontal and vertical orientations, making them versatile for a wide range of industrial applications.
GLOBE VALVES: Globe valves are closing-down valves in which the closure member is moved squarely on and off the seat. In this way the opening of the port is directly proportional to the travel of the disc. This proportional relationship is ideally suited for duties requiring regulation of flow rate. To have a further precision in regulation the disc element can be available in the parabolic, needle, vee-port types.
BOG entered into a Technical Service Agreement with OMB for their pivotal role in the design of our valve assembly plant, equipment selection, and the training of our engineers both in Nigeria and Italy.
This collaboration emphasizes BOG’s commitment to leveraging global expertise to establish world-class facilities and enhance the technical capabilities of our workforce. This further ensures excellent service delivery to our clients.
