This quarter, Bell Oil & Gas proudly took the lead as headline sponsor of the SupremeMUN Spelling Bee & Current Affairs Quiz Competition, an event that reminded us just how sharp, curious, and capable young minds can be when given the spotlight.
The competition was put together by the Supreme Model United Nations (SupremeMUN) Club of Supreme Education Foundation Schools, led by senior student Sekemi Ayeni. SupremeMUN is a student-driven initiative with a clear mission: to support and empower young minds through Model United Nations activities that inspire leadership, critical thinking, and global citizenship. Their focus areas include Quality Education, Good Health and Well-being, Community Service, and Leadership Development — all geared toward fostering real-world problem-solving and intellectual engagement among students.

Bringing together primary school pupils from both public and private schools, it was a beautiful mix of talent, confidence, and pure brilliance as the students tackled challenging spelling rounds and current affairs questions that even adults would pause at!
But this wasn’t just about competition. It was about inspiring a love for learning, building confidence, and encouraging young people to stay informed and think critically about the world around them. The competition was also built around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, with a clear mission: to raise a generation that is not only academically sound, but globally minded and socially responsible.

Adding to the excitement of the day was the presence of our very own Dr. Kayode Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Bell Oil & Gas, who graced the occasion in person. Dr. Kayode’s warm encouragement and interaction with the students was a highlight, and in a heartwarming gesture, he went beyond the prize presentations by scheduling a special lunch date with the top three winners, a moment they will no doubt remember for years to come.
It was heartwarming to watch these kids, some just eight or nine years old, speak so boldly, spell so effortlessly, and answer tough questions with such maturity. Moments like these remind us that the leaders of tomorrow are already here.
