Things you should Know About Amiantit
The Saudi Arabian Amiantit Company (SAAC) was incorporated in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1968 to manufacture different types of pipes, joints, fittings, tanks, rubber and insulation products, and related accessories for the Middle East market. In 1977, Amiantit Fiberglass Industries Limited (AFIL) was established as a limited liability company between SAAC and Flowtite, transforming the Fiberglass manufacturing, maintenance and service market globally which has metamorphosed to the Amiantit Group to become the leading industrial group in its domain providing different types of composite pipes, fittings, tanks, materials and water solutions across the globe.
With 29 manufacturing plants worldwide, various technology companies, material supply, and engineering subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Amiantit has further manifested its strength and positioned itself as the global leader in composites’ (GRE, GRVE, GRP) piping technology with an impressive presence spanning across the 6 continents.
Products and Services
From a diminutive pipe factory in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, over five decades ago, Amiantit has expanded its business to incorporate a wide range of well-integrated products and services including pipe-design technology, pipe-manufacturing, engineering services, water treatment management, and pipe network installation.
The group is currently providing the widest range of composite piping systems. Amiantit takes pride in its pipe systems that provide exceptionally viable and reliable solutions for the transfer of various kinds of fluids, through composite pipe systems that are designed to optimize the efficiency of fluid transmission.

Amiantit Group Brands
- Amipox produces fibreglass Reinforced Thermosetting Resin/Glass Reinforced Epoxy resin(RTR/GRE) pipes, fittings, and prefabricated spools. The Amipox GRE pipes and fittings are made of high strength fiberglass (E-glass)and amine cured epoxy resin. These materials provide the optimal strength in composite pipe systems. The product range of Amipox GRE pipe systems combines many advantages into one product. The lifetime of pumps and other inline equipment is extended through the complete absence of rust particles.
Applications
Amipox GRE Pipes Series AT, ASL and AP are produced from DN 80(3”) up to DN 1200 (48”). The standard random length supplied is 9 m (30 ft) for DN 80 up to DN 600 and 12 m (40 ft) for DN 200 up to DN 1200. The pipes are designed for pressures ranging from 10 bar (150psi) to 150 bar (2000 psi) and medium temperatures from -40°C (-50°F) to +120°C (+250°F). They are suitable for the transportation of hundreds of highly corrosive chemicals. GRE pipes have proven to be the best solution in the petrochemical industry, marine (onshore and offshore) and industrial applications, where reliability and strength are key factors.
- FLOWTITE – Flowtite Technology AS is a Norwegian technology company. In 2017, the two market leading companies for GRP pipes, Amiantit Europe and its Flowtite technology, and Hobas Europe (part of the Wietersdorfer Holding GmbH)combined forces to form a joint venture company, Amiblu. The design of pipes, joints, and fittings was optimized, and the manufacturing process further automated. Several new factories –both licensees and joint ventures –were established and Flowtite GRP/GRVE pipes are now manufactured on all continents.
- SADIP – Ductile Iron Pipes manufacturing and supply.
Research and Development
Amiantit has a Research and Development (R&D) Unit based in Norway which was acquired in 1995 from Flowtite. Flowtite Technology is a Norwegian technology company, owned by Amiantit Group. It has more than 20 pipe manufacturers that are licensed to use its technology. It represents one of the leading technologies of composite pipes that have been used in different industries for over 40 years. Flowtite has the largest R&D spend on composites. Its R&D Department was established in 1968.
Amiantit as Pioneer of GRE
With over 5 decades of experience in pipe systems, Amiantit is arguably one of the pioneers of composite pipes. Amiantit had been working on composites at a time when composites were not readily available to be used.
