In furtherance to BOG’s commitment to maintaining a healthy workforce, representatives of Hygeia Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) were at our Lagos and Port Harcourt offices for our 2018 Health Awareness Programmes.
Addressing BOG employees during the programme dubbed: “The Importance of Annual Screening and Check Up”, in Lagos, Dr. Mary-Ama Blankson, a medical doctor with Hygeia HMO, stressed the importance of annual medical screenings. She explained that such screenings can help in the prevention, early detection and treatment of life-threatening diseases and conditions.
Some of the health conditions discussed include diabetes, cancer and obesity. A lot of emphasis was placed on prevention and early detection of the symptoms of these conditions. Also highlighted were the kinds of foods that would aid healthy living.
At the end of the awareness programme basic ‘know your numbers tests’ were conducted on BOG staff.
