BOG as a responsible corporate entity takes the health of staff very seriously and is committed to maintaining employee health. To this end, BOG maintains a health insurance scheme for all staff. The health insurance for all BOG staff is provided by Hygeia, a Health Management Organization (HMO).
BOG invited the HMO to provide a health talk in our Lagos and Port Harcourt offices simultaneously. The objective this time was to remind staff of the operations of the Hygeia HMO scheme and provide a better understanding of the services covered under the scheme as well as how to appropriately channel complaints for quick resolution.
Speaking during the programme, Dr. Oladoyin Sagoe, highlighted the benefits of each of the plans available on the health scheme and their limitations. She detailed the services covered under each plan and how enrolees and their dependants can access such services.
She also, identified and explained the channels available for complaints and how to get the quickest response from Hygeia team. She responded to a host of questions from staff members, especially those bordering on access to care, quality of service, hospital performance and customer feedback.
After the lecture, basic medical examinations such as blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and Body Mass Index (BMI) were carried out.
