The Human Resources Unit participated in the Human Resources Expo Africa held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, between March 9 and 10, 2017. The theme was managing new economy efficiencies and old economy relationships.
The expo, which was attended by HR professionals across different industries, provided a platform for brainstorming on current trends in recruitment, employee retention, the role of technology in modern HR, leadership, performance management, labour law, talent management, diversity management, digital learning and a host of other topics.
Speakers at the 2-day expo distinguished the old economy from the new one, emphasizing the impact of technology and globalization in this transformation. Focus was on how HR professional should adapt to the changes brought about by the new economy to make the most of their personnel.
Numerous sessions covering different aspects of HR were discussed, existing challenges were identified and possible lines of action to mitigate the challenges were recommended.
