Senior Rotating Equipment Manager, Pastor Yinka Adetuberu, and Senior Business Development Executive, Udokamma Igwe, represented BOG at the 2018 Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Contractor CEOs Safety Leadership Conference held in Port Harcourt.
In attendance at the conference were top shots of the NLNG including; Tony Attah, Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO); Sadeeq Mai-Bornu, Deputy Managing Director; Tayo Oginni, General Manager, Productions; Isa Danfillo, General Manager, Finance; Eucharia Ezeani, General Manager, Human Resources; Ibrahim Lamah, Manager, Fleet Management; and a host of other NLNG staff. Also in attendance were CEOs of contractor companies
The conference featured a discussion on the 2018 HSE focus, a review of 2017 HSE commitments, syndicate sessions, group discussions, presentations on Work Site Safety, Personal Safety, Road Transport Safety and signing of the NLNG Contractor CEO Safety Leadership Charter.
Welcoming participants to the conference, Mr. Attah (MD/CEO) stressed that the essence of the conference was to achieve workforce safety. He emphasized ‘goal zero’ and added that all efforts made on safety in 2017 must be consolidated in 2018.
During the group discussions, which were focused on Worksite Hazards & Management, Personal Safety and Road Transport Safety, participants brainstormed on critical risk factors in carrying out tasks. They concluded that safety should be prioritized before engaging in any job.
Also at the conference, the 2018 NLNG Contractor CEOs Safety Leadership Charter was signed. The charter focuses on the following among other safety commitments:
Conducting Management Facility Engagement, Interacting with workforce, Leading HSE Meetings, and Demonstrating Safety Leadership.
