2019 has been a refreshingly thrilling and eventful year: EXHILARATING Indeed! We, therefore, need to be thankful for life. We are all hale and hearty. We are beaming with confidence and assured of a greater tomorrow.
At BOG, we are better than where we were a year ago. A key highlight of this year is the capital injection from our private equity partners. This has propelled us into strategically laying building blocks for a firmer foundation and a brighter as well as more prosperous tomorrow.
It should also be noted that BOG became one of the few Oil and Gas service companies to get the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) approval for spoolable composite pipes.
The Composite Pipe Systems (CPS) workshops in Lagos and Port Harcourt gave us the privilege to receive positive and insightful feedbacks from major stakeholders. We will definitely have more workshops in 2020.
We are fulfilling obligations to staff members and technical partners.
There has been a renewed appetite for value-adding support from technical partners because of the positive transformation at BOG.
We have consistently aced our health and safety inspections which is a crucial aspect of our operations. We have also learned that we must be QHSE (quality, health, safety and environment) compliant even when we are not within the BOG facility.
This year, we announced our return to NOG (Nigerian Oil and Gas Exhibition). It was very rewarding for us, as our stand was very popular with visitors to the exhibition. We had one of the best-branded items on display.
Next year we will even do better with the support of our technical partners. We delved into the general industry market in the Rotating Equipment space and we have recognized that it is a market that we need to take seriously and tap into.
We have signed the Milton Roy authorized service center agreement and we are on our marks to take on the Oil and Gas industry in Africa. I am excited about Project Evolution, BOG’s multimillion Dollar facility at Lekki Free Zone – the establishment of a pipe threading plant with a valve assembly plant at the Lekki Free Zone. The design and Environmental Impact Assesment (EIA) contracts have been awarded and we hope to commence construction by the first quarter in 2020. The project is gradually becoming a reality and is indeed the one thing that keeps me awake.
Every year at BOG we have had a tag line to keep us on track. This year was the year of FOCUS and 2020 will be the year of the POSITIVE THINKER. It is important we keep only positive thinkers in our midst. Positive thinking is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life.
We must therefore, always expect positive results. I am glad BOG has been an exciting and positive case study in the industry. In spite of occasional setbacks, a positive attitude should keep you going.
A positive attitude:
• brings inner peace and energizes relationship
• makes you attract the right people
• keeps you moving (rolling stones do not gather moss)
• leads to success
• aids self confidence
It must be noted that positive thinking is easier said than done, but it is achievable.
The positive thinker will always march on.
