In August 2018, representatives of BOG paid a courtesy visit to the King of Abuloma Community, his royal highness Brigadier-General Bright Ateke Fibomumama (retired), to congratulate him on his coronation and assure him of BOG’s continued support to the community. Abuloma is a community in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Over time, BOG has taken Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the communities where its operations are very seriously. Abuloma, being a host community for BOG, is not an exception.
Representing BOG during the visit were Business Development Manager, Clinton Idibia and Assistant Administrative Manager, Ayobami Oloyede. Also in attendance during the visit were the Community Liaison Officer (CLO), Ben Davies; community Public Relations Officer (PRO), Johnson Goodluck; and special assistants to the king.
Among the matters discussed were; BOG’s representation at the King’s coronation earlier in the year and also BOG’s involvement in the community’s projects. One of such was the provision of school desks with chairs for junior secondary school students in Community Secondary School.
The king thanked BOG for assisting the community thus far. He also thanked BOG for the interest in the repair of the generator at the Community Primary Health Center and promised to give BOG the go ahead after closing out some other modalities.
