Recently, BOG engineers carried out repair works on water-cooled Ingersoll Rand (IR) compressors and serviced the IR refrigerated air dryers at African Foundries Limited. IR is BOG’s technical partner for centrifugal and rotary screw compressors and pumps.
A compressor is a machine that squeezes air in an enclosed space through the help of mechanical assembly resulting in increase in pressure and density or as the case may be, the flow. The pressure and flow here are used by the client to drive heavy cylinders for their operations, especially the rolling mill. African Foundries relies heavily on the compressed air system for production.
The maintenance involved the replacement of critical spares and consumables to enhance the operation of the machinery. Also resolved was an alarm issue that had caused down time and production losses on one of the compressors.
African Foundries Limited is located in Ogijo, Ogun State. They are an iron manufacturing company of repute, manufacturing various sizes of thick rods and hollow assemblies used in the building and construction industry.
The maintenance operation has enhanced African Foundries’ productivity by reducing down time and recurrent maintenance failure.
At the end of our service, the management of African Foundries Limited was happy with BOG service team and requested for an annual maintenance contract. The project lasted 14 days.
