Two (2) BOG personnel were involved in the repair of a Sundyne Pump at the Nigerian Liquefied National Gas (NLNG), Bonny Island, Rivers State. Sundyne pumps are used for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) re-injection in the NLNG plant. They transfer LPG into the injection system.
The pump had a faulty electric motor and a failed bearing. With the pump being down, gas production at the NLNG was affected. The overhaul lasted 7 days.
After the overhaul, the train now has pumps A and B available for gas production, ensuring steady gas production.
