Echezona Moneke, BOG’s Product Specialist, Rotating Equipment, recently attended a technical training at Sundyne Headquarters in Arvada, Colorado, USA. It was a capacity building training that gave him the opportunity to have a firsthand experience of the different processes involved in manufacturing a typical Sundyne single-stage compressor.

The training was focused on the internal working principles of Sundyne compressors, the different models that are already in the market and maintenance best practices for these compressors. Echezona was exposed to the selection, design, installation, specific and general maintenance required for compressors, pricing of spare parts, interchangeability of parts and some hands-on activities within the training scope.

He also attended a specialized training session on ‘’Sundyne Pressure Products Industries (PPI) Reciprocating Compressors’’ with the Sundyne expert team, which was a week-long course. This specialized session was necessary because BOG/Sundyne will be supplying three units of these compressors (PPI) to the Dangote Refinery Project. This equipment will be the first of its kind in the African market. Areas covered in the specialized training include: theory of operation, operating procedure, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting and shop practice.

In the various classroom and field sessions, necessary contacts were established; support contacts, requisite members of the design team that will be required in supporting our various clients and information of the specific persons to contact concerning any issue pertaining to PPI compressors.
