Crude oil exploration and production companies continue to receive support from BOG towards optimizing their production activities.

Recently, BOG supported BelemaOil Producing Limited (BPL) to test some of its wells in Robertkiri Field, a part of OML-55. BPL acquired 40 per cent participating interest in OML-55 from Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) in a competitive bidding process in 2013 and consequently became the operator of the OML-55 Asset in a Joint Venture between BPL and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

BOG mobilized equipment and personnel to the location in preparation for well testing activities in April. The first phase of the project has been completed and reports were spooled and sent to the client. Personnel and equipment have been demobilized following the completion of the first phase.

The essence of the job was to ascertain the Maximum Efficiency Rate (MER) of wells in Robertkiri Field. It was another opportunity for BOG to showcase the capabilities of the Multiphase Flow Metering (MPFM) technology and its efficacy as a measurement tool in exploration and production operations.
